About the Community Health Leadership Endowment Fund
The Community Health Leadership Field of Interest Fund held at the Norton County Community Foundation is designed to build a culture of health leadership and health education support in and around Norton County and provide a vehicle for the community to give back to those who provide health related services.
This fund is established in honor of Lila M. Atwell for her longtime dedication to the health of Norton County residents and to community health leadership. With a nursing career spanning over 40 years, Lila was instrumental in the founding and growth of the Norton County Health Department from 1975 to 1998. The fund upholds the legacy of values she lived out in her work, her relationships and her patient care.
The purpose of the Community Health Leadership Fund is to make an impact in 5 areas that were important to Lila:
Recognition of Nursing Professionals
Recruitment of Nursing Professionals
Education and Mentorship of Nursing Professionals
Public Health Support
Community Health Leadership Initiatives
