Norton Flower Fund

About Norton Flower Fund

The Norton Flower Fund is a group of volunteers whose work includes sweeping and cleaning sidewalks, providing street furniture, weeding park areas, and planting, fertilizing and watering pots in 30 locations in downtown Norton. The group also helps with seasonal decor, such as decorating the pots with pumpkins during fall and flags on Veterans Day.

MatchDay Fundraising Project

Name of Project/Initiative: Beautification of Public Areas

Project Description: The Flower Fund will use funds for general operations, such as purchasing plants from local businesses, weed spray, pots, trees and bushes, and general upkeep of the Aquatic Park, Washington Park, and the rose garden on Kansas Street.

How the project will benefit Norton County

The work done by the Flower Fund keeps the public appearance of Norton beautiful. “Because of our project, neighboring towns now have flower pots on their corners,” said lead volunteer Darla Beasley. “We get lots of compliments from people who visit Norton about how nice the pots dress up the corners.”
