For the last two years, Norton County Community Foundation (NCCF) has hosted a Match Day in July as a way to support and encourage charitable giving to nonprofit and civic organizations. “We believe this has been a beneficial event for our local organizations,” said Tara Vance, NCCF Executive Director. “Match Day has provided much-needed financial support to the participating organizations.”
In fulfilment of its mission, NCCF is committed to the long-term sustainability of area nonprofits. One of the best ways a nonprofit can plan for the future is by creating an endowment or field of interest. Not only do endowments create an ongoing source of income, but they also send a message of planned long-term stability and credibility to the community.
With this in mind, there will not be a Match Day in 2019. Instead, NCCF staff will spend time working with organizations that are interested in learning more about building an endowment. Then, in 2020, NCCF will announce a new version of Match Day that will focus on supporting organizations with endowments or fields of interest.
As a reminder, all Norton County nonprofits and civic organizations are invited to apply for grants through NCCF. The foundation wants to support local projects and encourages all eligible organizations to submit an application for funding.
