Norton County Community Foundation Awards $18,000 in October Grant Cycle

Norton County Community Foundation (NCCF) awarded $18,000 to Norton County nonprofit organizations and charitable projects in the October grant cycle. These funds were part of the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, which offers financial support to qualifying and deserving projects and programs in Northwest Kansas. Grant funds supported the following organizations and projects:

  • Norton City/County Economic Development received $2,000 for its 5th annual Norton County Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge.

  • Valley Hope Association Foundation received $6,000 for their annual Git of Recovery Drive. NCCF’s matching gift helped them secure a $24,000 challenge grant. Funds will benefit people seeking drug and alcohol addiction recovery.

  • Norton City/County Economic Development received $10,000 for the Norton County Housing Rehabilitation Strategy Program.

“The grant committee was excited to award funds to these deserving initiatives,” said Tara Vance, NCCF Executive Director. “Supporting youth programming is always a priority, and the YEC competition yields so much value for our area youth. Additionally, our grant to Valley Hope Association helped them reach a fundraising goal to secure matching funds, thus leveraging our gift and impact. Finally, our grant to Norton City/County Economic Development is part of an $800,000 incentive bundle for the Norton County Housing Rehabilitation Program. We look forward to seeing the incredible impact this program will have on our community over the next several years.”

The guidelines and application for the Hansen Community Grant can be found on NCCF’s website at nortonccf.org. Applications are due the first day of every month to be considered for that month’s funding.
