Grandstands Revitalization Project Fund
About the Fund
The Norton Grandstands Revitalization Project Fund was established to support the long-overdue repair and future maintenance of the historic grandstands at the Norton County Racetrack. Once a premier racing venue in the region, the grandstands have fallen into disrepair—posing safety concerns and limiting their use.
Thanks to the leadership of Goof and Sue Urban and over $10,000 in community donations, momentum is building. With support from the City of Norton, Norton County, volunteers, and past Nortonites, this project is replacing rotted boards, repainting seating, updating lighting, repairing the tin roof, and improving nearby facilities like the 4-H food stand and veterans’ space.
The revitalization will allow the grandstands to once again serve as a safe, inclusive gathering place for demo derbies, concerts, races, and more—bringing generations together to enjoy one of Norton’s most treasured spaces.
This fund will help reduce the burden on the City by supporting replacement costs now and establishing a long-term maintenance plan for the future.
We believe: If ever there was a time to do this—it's now.
