About Norton County Historical Society

The Norton County Museum is housed in a 1938 WPA stone building, which was originally used as Norton’s Public Library until 1992.

A wide variety of the Museum’s exhibits showcase life in Norton County over the centuries, from the fossils of the prehistoric past, to one of the largest meteorites to hit North America, to the life and booming times of the businesses in Norton during the 1940's through the 1960's.

For visitors of all ages, the Museum uses local history to inspire, spark curiosity, and give perspective to the place we call home.
