Leadership Norton County
About the Program
Leadership Norton County is a biennial leadership development program designed to educate, connect, and empower emerging and established leaders in Norton County and the surrounding region. Spanning nine months from August to May, the program includes eight full-day, in-person sessions featuring leadership training, community tours, and engagement with local professionals.

Participants explore key community sectors—such as government, education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic development—through hands-on learning, site visits, and facilitated discussions. The curriculum is grounded in the Kansas Leadership Center’s “When Everyone Leads” framework, complemented by training in Strategic Doing and the option to complete KLC’s “Your Leadership Edge.”

The program also includes a collaborative class project focused on civic engagement or community improvement. With strong support from local businesses, alumni, and the Norton County Community Foundation, Leadership Norton County continues to build a network of capable, committed leaders working to shape the future of Northwest Kansas.

About the Fund
Leadership Norton County is participating in Match Day to help build long-term sustainability for the program. As a community-driven leadership initiative, the goal is to ensure the program remains accessible and affordable for future participants while continuing to offer high-quality experiences, tours, and training.

By raising funds during Match Day and growing the Leadership Norton County Fund at the Norton County Community Foundation, the planning committee can offset program costs, reduce reliance on outside funding, and invest in the future of local leadership development. Match Day also provides an opportunity to engage alumni, local businesses, and community members who believe in cultivating strong, capable leaders for Norton County and Northwest Kansas.
